Dev board seamlessly connects embedded applications to Google Cloud

Mouser now stocks the Microchip Technology EV62V87A SAM-IoT WX v2 Development Board.

This development board is a small, easy-to-expand hardware platform for evaluating and developing IoT solutions. It features an ATSAMD21G18 Arm Cortex-M0+ based Flash MCU, ATECC608B secure element, and the ATWINC1510 Wi-Fi controller module. The board is preconfigured for Google Cloud IoT Core and compatible with AWS IoT, Microsoft Azure, and any TLS networks with code examples for WolfSSL, mBedTLS, or CycloneSSL. The MCU reads the data from the onboard light and temperature sensors and the pre-programmed demonstration application to publish data to the cloud every second. Any data the cloud acquires from the sensors is sent to the virtual serial port and can be displayed in a serial terminal application. The ATWINC1510 Wi-Fi controller module supplies a connection to the Internet-enabled Wi-Fi network. The ATECC608B secure element authenticates the hardware with the cloud to uniquely identify each board.

Applications for the board include smart home, industrial automation, health care, consumer electronics, smart agriculture, retail and catering, generic low-power IoT sensor hubs and data loggers.
