Mouser now stocks the Knowles V2S200D digital voice vibration sensor. The device is a specialised, low-power, high-performance, high-bandwidth vibration sensor that enhances voice call quality in noisy environments for earbuds, wearables, and self-speech detection applications.
This digital voice vibration sensor features voice activity detection with 50dB acoustic isolation, developed to selectively pick up the speaker’s voice while suppressing wind and background noise for an improved voice call experience. As well as enhancing voice call quality, voice activity detection, imposter rejection, and personalisation are other use cases made feasible by this sensor.
The device, with its small 3.3mm x 2.3mm size, high 64.5dBA SNR, and low power, provides an ideal solution to OEMs/ODMs looking to improve the user experience of their products while working with significant industrial design and battery life constraints. Also, upon integration into the system, it emulates a digital mic with a PDM interface, which makes hardware and software development hassle-free.
The V2S200D evaluation kit (KAS-33100-0006) supports the sensor, which features a V2S200D sensor and a SiSonic digital MEMS microphone in an earbud form factor. The evaluation kit connects to a PC via the USB port and should be recognised as a USB stereo recording device. Any commercial audio software that can independently access stereo left and right channels can be used to evaluate the device. Alternatively, the company provides a free downloadable GUI for complete evaluation.
