Extended range of embedded COMs and SOMs now available

Inelco Hunter now offers an extended range of COMs and SOMs aimed at embedded system applications, providing complete computing solutions.

A COM generally includes a single board's processor, memory, and essential peripherals. Its primary function is to provide computing power, and it often needs a carrier board for additional connectivity. A SOM is similar to a COM but typically incorporates more integrated components. COMs focus on providing core computing capabilities, while SOMs are created to be closer to complete systems with more integrated peripherals, preferred for applications requiring a compact, integrated solution.

The company has a franchised distribution agreement with SoM Labs, an established partner of leading MPU manufacturers like NXP, Renesas, and STMicroelectronics. Based on the commitment provided by the chip vendors, SoMLabs aims to select the best solutions for its designs to ensure at least 7-10 years of longevity for its products.

The company's wide range includes Linux SOMs and Carrier Boards, plus the new SMARC SOM from display partner Powertip. This innovative, powerful, ultra-small SOM was created for applications demanding compactness and energy efficiency. It employs the SMARC standard, which makes it excellent for mobile devices, fleet management, factory automation, medical equipment, portable devices, and industrial IoT applications.
