Mouser now stocks the FG28 SoC from Silicon Labs. The FG28 is developed for long-range networks and protocols like Amazon Sidewalk, Wi-SUN, and other proprietary protocols.
The device is a dual-band SoC, including radios for sub-Gigahertz and 2.4GHz Bluetooth LE, a built-in AI/ML accelerator for machine learning inference, and the company's industry-leading Secure Vault technology.
Also available is the company's new ZG28, a Z-Wave Long Range SoC; the SG28, an Amazon Sidewalk SoC; and the PG28, a stand-alone microcontroller. These devices all feature a 32-bit Arm Cortex-M33 core with an 80MHz maximum operating frequency and rich analog and communication peripherals.
The xG28 family of wireless SoCs combine Bluetooth connectivity, providing users an easy way to provision and deploy new devices onto the network, with a sub-GHz band designed to support device communications over one mile, allowing for new edge applications in areas like smart agriculture, smart cities, and neighbourhood networks like Amazon Sidewalk.
The family of wireless SoCs are supported by the xG28-EK2705A 900MHz BLE Explorer Kit, the xG28-PK6025A 868-915MHz BLE Pro-Kit, and the xG28-PK6024A 868-915MHz BLE +14dBm Pro-Kit. Each kit includes a main board with an onboard J-Link debugger with a Packet Trace Interface and a Virtual COM port. The kits also include a radio board that provides a complete reference design for the xG28 Wireless SoCs. The main board facilitates application development and debugging of the attached radio board and external hardware through an expansion header. The xG28 Explorer Kit and Pro-Kits supply all the required tools for developing high-volume, scalable Sub-GHz + 2.4 BLE wireless IoT applications.
