Mouser now offers the Teseo-LIV4F GNSS dual-band module from STMicroelectronics. The module is a tiny, standalone, low-power GNSS module with sub-metre positioning accuracy for embedded geolocation applications such as fleet management, insurance black-boxes, asset tracking, drones, anti-theft systems, people and pet location, vehicle tracking, public transportation and more.
The GNSS dual-band module provides superior accuracy in an ultra-compact (9.7mm x 10.1mm), low-power form factor. The device uses ST's Teseo IV single-die receiver technology, including L1 and L5 band support, for enhanced positioning accuracy (-162-dBm tracking sensitivity) and extended multi-constellation compatibility (GPS/Galileo/Glonass/BeiDou/QZSS), including navigation with Indian constellations (NavIC or IRNSS, the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System).
The module pairs an onboard TCXO with a dedicated real-time clock (RTC) oscillator to support real-time assisted GNSS for improved TTFF. It also supplies real-time assisted GNSS that enables prediction of satellite data based on previous observations. Operating with 49mA GNSS L1 and L5 tracking current and 10μA standby current extends battery runtime in power-conscious applications.
The module is certified per CE, FCC and ICES regulations, simplifying development and quickening the path to market. The operating temperature range from -40C to +85C permits use in harsh environments such as factories and outdoors.
The EVB-LIV4F evaluation board supports the tiny GNSS dual-band module and is available to order. The evaluation board is a complete development and demonstration platform for the module, including a GNSS antenna and a USB cable. An easy-to-use GUI, available to download from STMicroelectronics, allows users to monitor and configure the Teseo-LIV4F module.
