Industry standard DisplayPort increases FeedThrough connecter range

Cliff Electronics has added a full-size Displayport connector to its range of FeedThrough connectors. The new connector joins the existing Mini DisplayPort version and may be assembled into an industry standard 24mm diameter XLR connector panel cut-out. The FeedThrough connector series provides a wide range of connector types, which may be assembled in a panel using the same XLR connector cut-out, simplifying system design and assembly.

A key benefit of the connector range is standard cables for internal connection of electronic systems and external connection to signal sources. The company can supply suitable DisplayPort cables in 1m and 2m lengths. The new connector is offered with a plastic or metal faceplate, may be front or rear-mounted to a panel and offers plain, countersunk, or M3 threaded mounting holes.

DisplayPort (DP) and Mini DisplayPort (MiniDP or mDP) connectors are widely used DisplayPort audio-visual digital interfaces. DisplayPort can drive display devices with resolutions up to 2560×1600 (WQXGA) in its DisplayPort 1.1a implementation and 4096×2160 (4K) in its DisplayPort 1.2 implementation. The Mini DisplayPort can drive display devices with VGA, DVI, or HDMI interfaces with an adapter.

The company's Feedthrough connectors now provide Analogue, Digital and Optical FeedThrough connectivity in formats including Firewire, GJ45, HDMI A-A and 50 ohm BNC versions, USB2 A-to-B and B-to-A 'gender change' sockets high-speed USB Type – C, USB3 to USB3 in all gender changing configurations – A-A, A-B and B-A.
