Industry’s first completely lead-free range of DRAM modules

MEMPHIS Electronic has introduced a full range of lead-free memory modules, from the first DDR1 generation to the latest DDR5 generation. With this new product range, the company brings peace of mind to manufacturers of long-life electronic products as they do not have to rely on extensions of the exemption clauses to the RoHS directive.

Most memory modules utilise components containing lead and hence must rely on the exemption 7c-I to the RoHS directive. The industry is working tirelessly to decrease the use of harmful substances in semiconductor memory. However, advancements are usually implemented only with the latest technologies.

As a Memory Competence Center, the company focuses on delivering memory know-how and memory products to industrial customers and takes a more holistic approach with its latest self-configured lead-free DRAM modules. As a starting point, it provides DRAM modules at both ends of the spectrum, with the industry’s first lead-free DDR1 module available today and its DDR5 module that is sampling now. DDR2, DDR3, and DDR4 modules will follow throughout the year to complete the product range.
