New AC stepper drives deliver a boost to industrial automation

08-08-2024 | MOONS’ Industries | Power

MOONS’ Industries has introduced a new generation of AC Pulsed Stepper Drivers, the SRXAC Series. Efficiency, ease of use, and reliability are among the key necessities for many of today’s motion control applications, and the new series is an excellent example of the company’s commitment to developing drives and motors that help improve productivity while maintaining exceptional quality.

Designed to satisfy the increasing demands and challenges of factory automation, logistics and other similar industry applications, these drivers offer important features and benefits. For example, Versatile Voltage Support ensures single-phase 85-265VAC input with maximum current options of 4.5A, 8A and 12A. This means they are ideal for a wide range of applications which demand various torque requirements. Further features combine to provide a user-friendly configuration; for example, a Type-C interface which helps to simplify tuning, a 16-bit motor selector which allows easy matching and a 12-bit DIP switch for motor current interpolation with anti-resonance functions.

They also meet the demand for improved performance because they provide higher continuous torque output at up to 1200rpm, which greatly surpasses the performance of 750W servo motors in low-speed applications. This helps to enhance factory production line efficiency and stability.

The configuration process has been streamlined, enabling quick set-up of parameters such as sub-division, speed, running current and idle current via a 16-bit DIP code. Users can connect through the Type-C interface to modify and save parameters using the company’s configuration software for customised settings.

The new series supports pulse (-S) and speed (-V) modes, providing users with flexible control methods for various application needs.

The speed mode increases the options for acceleration/deceleration and can also be tailored through software adjustments.

To meet the latest trends, the SRXAC series is designed for applications requiring low control accuracy and high torque at low speeds so that it will excel in factory assembly lines, logistics conveyor belts, the food industry and many more. The features and benefits of this new generation of AC stepping pulse drives elevate the possibilities of industrial automation and help to propel innovations into developing new and improved manufacturing solutions.
