RS, a trading brand of RS Group plc, offers the availability of a new monitor that delivers continuous, easy-to-read and accurate real-time monitoring of air quality in indoor environments.
Manufactured by ebm-papst, the new IAQ Monitor continuously assesses five key factors affecting people's health, including PM2.5, CO2, TVOC, temperature and humidity. The device is suitable for deployment in many facilities, including indoor industrial premises, offices, schools, health sector businesses and care homes.
Providing notifications when air quality becomes unhealthy, the connected IAQ device can support facilities managers to identify poor ventilation by transmitting air-quality data to a cloud-based dashboard, thereby delivering real-time information readily available to users via a mobile phone App. The monitor also complies with the Modbus data communications protocol for BMS integration.
The plug-and-play monitor works with the RESET Viral Index App and associated dashboard and is accordingly certified to the RESET standard, the world's first sensor-based and performance-driven programme for the building environment. The standard forms a structure for data quality, continuous performance assessment and benchmarking.
Sensor measurement ranges and accuracy specifications of the IAQ include particle sensing to ±10%@100∼500μ g/m³ and ±10μg/m³@0∼100μ g/m³; carbon-dioxide sensing of 0-10.000ppm ±40ppm(±3%); gas sensing at 0-1000ppm of ethanol equivalents with an accuracy of 15%; temperature measurement from –40C to +125C ±0.3C from 0-90C; and relative humidity measurement from 0-100% RH ±2% @ 0-100% RH.
Available in an out-of-the-box solution needing no specialist knowledge, the device features a modern, slimline and non-intrusive design with dimensions of 130mm x 130mm x 36mm and is provided with fixed mounting holes for easy wall installation.
