Connected Inventions has partnered with Epishine to introduce a cutting-edge temperature and humidity sensor powered by indoor light. The new Airwits EcoSense sensor uses Epishine's indoor solar cells to deliver a sustainable solution for energy savings in smart buildings.
Recognising the importance of energy optimisation in sustainable building operations, Connected Inventions has developed data collection solutions that have been proven to reduce energy consumption in buildings by up to 30%.
The Airwits EcoSense device, designed to assist facility managers to optimise their buildings, offering easy deployment with minimal maintenance. Powered solely by light, the sensor eradicates the necessity for batteries and includes an enclosure made of 100% biodegradable material. Operating with leading LPWAN protocols – LoRaWAN and Sigfox 0G technology – it has an expected lifespan of over 15 years, backed by a five-year warranty.
Markku Patronen, CEO of Connected Inventions, commented on the release, saying, "We are excited to work with Epishine and make this game-changing technology globally available. Our sensor represents a significant step towards energy-efficient IoT solutions that meet the needs of the facility management industry. Achieving ESG obligations with IoT solutions while increasing operational efficiency has never been easier. It is a win-win for the whole industry."
Anders Kottenauer, CEO of Epishine, added, "Our collaboration with Connected Inventions highlights the versatility and potential of our light power technology. We're excited to further leverage the capabilities of our indoor solar cells in reducing the environmental impact of everyday technologies."
Designed in Finland, the sensor has intelligent energy-saving algorithms and is ready for global deployment, enabling easy data access and system integration.
