New TVS hybrid array delivers circuit protection for high-speed data lines

04-12-2023 | Protek | Power

ProTek Devices has released a high power, low capacitance, transient voltage suppressor hybrid array developed for circuit protection in common high-speed data line applications like Ethernet, set-top boxes, xDSL, T1/E1 line cards, and ISDN. The circuit protection supplied by the PTA03-3.3ULC includes guarding against damaging effects of ESD, EFT, and secondary electrical transient threats.

The TVS hybrid array provides low capacitance – max 2.4pF (I/O to I/O) - even at higher temperatures. It features 100A (2/10 microseconds) per Bellcore GR1089 (intra-building) and ESD protection greater than 30kV, contact per IEC 61000-4-2. It also provides for a telecom/diode bridge configuration. Also, it offers 2000W peak pulse power per Line (typical = 8/20 microseconds).

The device is also compatible with IEC standards 61000-4-2 (ESD): air +/-15kV, contact +/-8kV; with IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT): 40A - 5/50ns; with IEC 61000-4-5 (surge): 70A, 8/20 microseconds. It is also RoHS and REACH compliant.

The device is provided in a moulded JEDEC SO-8 package with an approximate weight of just 70mg. It has lead-free plating (annealed) and a solder reflow temperature (pure-tin - Sn, 100) of 260C-270C. It also has a flammability rating of UL 94V-0. The operating and storage temperature is -55C to 150C. It is available via 12mm tape and reel, per EIA standard 481, in quantities from 1,000.
