New waveguide power amps launched covering high mmWave frequency bands

15-06-2023 | Pasternack | Power

Pasternack has launched a new series of waveguide power amplifiers developed to cover high mmWave frequency bands ranging from 26.5GHz to 96GHz.

This line of waveguide power amplifiers provides outstanding performance and versatility to fulfil industries' demands, including SATCOM, radar, wireless infrastructure, 5G and more.

These new waveguide power amplifiers employ advanced GaAs and GaN MMIC semiconductor technology, delivering high efficiency in a compact package. With gain levels ranging from 25dB to 35dB and output Psat levels between 20dBm and 31dBm, these amplifiers provide optimal performance across popular Ka, Q, U, V, E and W bands.

The company's waveguide power amplifiers are intended to withstand harsh environments, delivering rugged, MIL-grade, gold-plated aluminium waveguide packages. They operate in temperatures from -40F to 176F (-40C to 80C). They can tolerate exposure up to 95% relative humidity and altitudes up to 10,000'.

These waveguide power amplifiers are excellent for airborne and ground-based applications, including satellite communications, radar systems, wireless infrastructure, 5G networks, research and development, prototype/proof of concept, and test and measurement.

"Our new waveguide power amplifiers enable our customers to harness the power of high mm-wave frequencies for their diverse applications. We are confident that these amplifiers will greatly benefit industries requiring high-performance communication and networking systems," said Tim Galla, product line manager.
