Broadcom, a leading semiconductor and infrastructure software solution provider, recently showcased its innovative products aimed at enabling a green energy future at the PCIM event in Nuremberg. The company's booth highlighted three main areas: Industrial Fiber Optic Products, Automotive Optocouplers, and Optical Isolation Products for Renewable Energy.
Industrial Fiber Optic Products:
Broadcom's industrial fiber optic transceivers, used in smart grid applications, were a highlight due to their very low power dissipation. The company also demonstrated its power over fiber products, which can transmit both power and data, as exemplified by a helicopter model powered by fiber.
Automotive Optocouplers:
Broadcom showcased its automotive optocouplers, which are used in various e-mobility applications. The company presented several reference designs for power and silicon carbide and GaN power electronics, capable of delivering up to 17 amps directly from the optocoupler device. Additionally, Broadcom's latest photomosfets were on display, demonstrating their ability to drive LEDs and their potential use in various automotive applications.
Optical Isolation Products for Renewable Energy:
The third station focused on optical isolation products for renewable energy applications, primarily used in photovoltaic inverters, wind energy, and energy storage systems. Broadcom showcased its current sense and voltage sense portfolio, along with its gate driver portfolio for silicon carbide and GaN, providing evaluation boards for customer review.
Broadcom looks forward to welcoming visitors in person and continues to strive towards a green energy future.
