Micron Unveils the World's First Four-Port SSD - EW24

The Electropages team met with Ryan Laity from Micron at Embedded World 2024, who introduced a ground-breaking development in SSD technology designed for automotive and industrial applications. Micron's unveiling of the world's first four-port SSD represents a significant leap in storage solutions. The Micron 4150AT SSD combines market-leading features such as single-root input/output virtualization (SR-IOV), a PCIe® Generation 4 interface and ruggedised automotive design. With these features, the automotive-grade SSD provides the ecosystem with data centre-level flexibility and power. 

Ryan detailed the SSD’s capabilities, including its unique ability to handle separate data streams concurrently without interference, thanks to its innovative controller design. This feature allows for the simultaneous operation of multiple systems, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
