Available now from Mouser stock, Kemet T591 Series tantalum polymer
capacitors are designed to deliver higher stability under harsh conditions
of humidity and temperature in applications such as decoupling and filtering
in a variety of market segments - automotive in particular.
The series features polymer cathode technology for ultra-low ESR and
improved capacitance retention at high frequency. The polymer technology
also exhibits a benign failure mode which eliminates the ignition failures
that can occur in standard MnO2 tantalum types.
The T591 polymer tantalum capacitors can be operated at voltages up to 90%
of rated voltage for part types with rated voltages of ?10V with equivalent
or better reliability than traditional MnO2 tantalum capacitors operated at
50% of rated voltage. The AEC-Q200-compliant devices are specially designed
for DC-DC converters in automotive applications, where harsh conditions
(high humidity and temperature) are a concern.
