Step-down converter for storage, portables and battery-powered devices

31-03-2015 | Mouser Electronics | Power

Aimed at applications such as storage (SSD, HDD), portable Instruments and battery-powered devices, Monolithic Power Systems' MP2147 step-down converter is now available from Mouser. The device achieves up to 4A continuous output current from a 2.8 to 5.5V input voltage with exceptional load and line regulation. Designers can regulate the output voltage as low as 0.6V. The MP2147's constant-on-time control delivers a fast transient response and eases loop stabilization. The device's fault condition protections include cycle-by-cycle current limiting and thermal shutdown. Available in a small QFN 2mm × 3mm package, the MP2147 requires only a minimal number of readily-available, standard, external components, says the company.
