High-current synchronous buck converter for high-efficiency systems

Designed as a high-efficiency voltage-mode synchronous buck converter operating from 4.5V to 21V input and generating output voltages down to 0.6V at up to 15A, ON Semiconductor's high-current NCP3232N synchronous buck converter is now available from Mouser stock. The device offers lossless low-side FET current sensing, 500KHz switching frequency, external programmable soft-start, output over-voltage and under-voltage protection, system over-temperature protection using a thermistor or sensor through OTS pin, hiccup mode operation for all faults, pre-bias start-up, adjustable output voltage; power good indicator, and internal over-temperature protection. The NCP3232N high current synchronous buck converter is particularly suitable for applications such as cellular base stations, telecom / network equipment, and server / storage systems.
