Wide input range low-noise LDO regulators for battery-powered systems

Infineon's IFX54441 wide input range low-noise LDO regulators are now available from Mouser. The micropower, low-noise, low dropout voltage regulators that are available in compact SMD packages. Each device is capable of supplying an output current of 300mA with a dropout voltage of only 270mV. The low quiescent current of 30µA makes the devices ideal for use in battery-powered systems. A key feature of the IFX54441 is its low output noise. By adding an external 0.01µF bypass capacitor output noise values down to 24µVRMS over a 10Hz to 100kHz bandwidth can be reached. The IFX54441 voltage regulator is stable with output capacitors as small as 3.3µF. Small ceramic capacitors can be used without the series resistance required by traditional regulators. Applications include microcontroller supply, noise sensitive instruments, radar and image sensors.
