Snap-in aluminium power capacitors in compact packages down to 20mm x 25mm

A new series of miniaturized snap-in power aluminium capacitors has been introduced by Vishay. The range offer high capacitance from 820µF to 47,000µF in compact cases down to 20mm by 25mm. Designed for audio, industrial, and general power supply applications, the 256 PMG-SI Series capacitors offer a long useful life, high ripple current, and low ESR. Featuring a cylindrical aluminium case with a pressure relief valve, insulated with a blue PET sleeve, the snap-in capacitors are available in 17 case sizes ranging from 20mm x 25mm to 35mm x 45mm, with voltages from 16V to 100V. The devices offer a wide temperature range from -40C to +105C, useful life of 2,000 hours at +105C, ripple current to 4.85A, and ESR down to 14mohm. As polarized aluminium electrolytic capacitors with a non-solid electrolyte, 256 PMG-SI series devices are ideally suited for smoothing, filtering, and energy storage in pulsed power applications for audio amplifiers, LED drivers, UPS systems, and solar power micro-inverters. The capacitors are lead (Pb)-free and RoHS-compliant.
