Diode Inc.'s BCR42xUW6 linear LED constant-current regulators are now
stocked by Mouser. They integrate a transistor, diode and resistor to
function as a constant-current regulator (CCR). The devices regulate with a
preset 10mA nominal that can be adjusted with an external resistor up to
350mA. They are designed for driving LEDs in strings and will reduce current
at increasing temperatures to self-protect.
The BCR42xUW6 can be used in multiple applications where the maximum supply
voltage to the device is <40V. For LED dimming, a low-side control can
enable an (EN) pin which can be pulse-width modulated (PWM) up to 10kHz by a
microcontroller. There is no need for additional external components and
minimizes PCB area and component count with a fully-integrated SOT26, says
the company.
Applications include constant-current regulation (CCR) in systems such as
automotive interior lighting, emergency lighting, signage, advertising,
decorative and architectural lighting, retail lighting in fridges, freezers
and vending machines.
