Mouser now stocks the Texas Instruments (TI) ISO78xx dual or quad-channel
digital isolators which feature 8000VPK isolation voltage.
The isolators provide high electromagnetic immunity and low emissions at low
power consumption, while isolating CMOS or LVCMOS digital I/O's.
Each isolation channel has a logic input and output buffer separated by
silicon dioxide (SiO2) insulation barrier. ISO7821 has one forward and one
reverse-direction channel. ISO7841 has three forward and one
reverse-direction channels. ISO7842 has two forward and two
reverse-direction channels. In the event of input power or signal loss,
default output is 'high' for each of these devices. Used in conjunction with
isolated power supplies, these devices prevent noise currents on a data bus.
They also prevent other circuits from entering the local ground and
interfering with or damaging sensitive circuitry.
Applications include industrial automation, motor control, power supplies,
solar inverters, medical equipment and hybrid electric vehicles.
