Available now from Mouser stock, Bosch Sensortec's BMI160 is a 6-axis
inertial measurement unit comprised of a 16-bit accelerometer and an
ultra-low power gyroscope.
The device features low power consumption of 950µA and precise computation.
These features plus a compact, 14-pin LGA package of 2.5mm x 3mm x 0.8mm
makes the BMI160 from Bosch ideal for mobile applications such as augmented
reality, immersive gaming and indoor navigation.
High precision sensor data is provided along with a 39µs resolution
timestamp created with a real-time clock. A configurable on-chip interrupt
engine provides context awareness as always-on background functions.
Interrupts, requiring no software algorithms, include any- or no-motion
detection, tap/double tap sensing, orientation detection, free-fall or shock
events, says the company.
