Customisation options for aluminium instrument enclosures

New customisation options are now available for OKW's Metcase Unimet-Plus desktop and portable instrument enclosures. The high-quality range of robust metal cases targets laboratory and communications equipment, medical and wellness devices, test and measurement, industrial control, peripherals, interfaces and switchboxes. The company now offers custom sizes, complementing the existing six standard sizes (50mm x 230mm x 193mm to 150mm x 350mm x 263mm). Enclosures are available in custom heights, widths and depths. That also applies to ‘H’ versions of UNIMET-PLUS which feature a tilt/swivel carry handle that can be inclined to double as a desk stand. The bar of the handle is extruded so it can be easily manufactured in custom lengths. Installing PCBs is easy – they slide in on clip-in guide rails. Four polyamide guides are supplied as standard but extra positions can be punched into the chassis on demand to accommodate more guides. The enclosures are manufactured from a folded aluminium body with stylish die-cast bezels at the front and rear. The front fixing screws are concealed beneath attractive trims. Customisation options include internal mounting plates and brackets; CNC milling, drilling, punching and folding. 3D drawings are now available for all standard sizes so customers can see how their components will look in the customised enclosures. Both the front and rear panels can be customised with cut-outs for displays, controls and cable glands. The removable rear panel is recessed as standard to protect any switches and connectors. Front panel kits are available as accessories, along with PCB clip-in guides, tilt feet and moulded feet. New digital printing technology enabling front panels and complete enclosures to be printed with photo quality designs quickly and cost effectively is also offered. Other customisation services also include painting and anodising. A wide range of customs colours is now available along with the standard Light Grey RAL 7035 (case body) and Window Grey RAL 7040 (front and rear bezels).
