Compact medical power supplies offer 100W and 150W outputs

RECOM's new series of AC/DC power supplies designed for medical applications is now available from Digi-Key. The RACM100 and RACM150 are compact, high-efficiency power supplies respectively providing 100W or 150W maximum power in a semi-enclosed case while meeting two means of patient protection for high-grade medical applications. Single outputs, ranging from 12 VDC to 48 VDC, are provided from a universal 85 to 264 VAC input. All models feature efficiencies up to 92%, require no minimum load, and can be used at temperatures between -25C and 80C. The output voltages are fully regulated and have tolerances of less than ±0.2% over the entire input voltage range and less than ±0.5% over the entire load range. The space saving 3 in. x 2 in. or 4 in. x 2 in. modules offer 4kVAC reinforced isolation between input and output and also meet the requirements for medical applications with patient contact (2 x MOPP). The modules are approved to medical safety standard IEC/ES/EN60601-1 3rd Edition and feature B and BF rated outputs with less than 100µA leakage current. All models are compliant with Class B EMI to FCC, EN60601-1-2 and EN55022 standards, says the company.
