Panasonic Automotive & Industrial Systems is to launch a new range of current-sensing resistors featuring ultra-low ohmic values (as low as 0.5milliohms) and TCR values as low as 75ppm. The ERJMS4 and ERJMS6 series components offer high power ratings of up to 5W and in different case sizes (1206 till 2526). Based on metal plate bonding technology, the parts offer exceptional long term stability. The outer resin with high heat dissipation allows for a wide operating temperature range of -65C up to +170C. Fully RoHS/REACH compliant, the environmentally-friendly devices are designed for industrial electronics and automotive / transportation applications such as engine cooling fan, engine ECU, braking system, steering EPS, transmission system, etc., says the company. Stephane Ngandeu Latta, product manager, Panasonic Device Solutions Business Division, said: "Our new current sensing resistors are ideal for applications where high current measurement accuracy is important and are also well suited to current detection under high current circuit (short circuit current detection). Thanks to their AEC-Q200, ISO9001, and ISO/TS16949 certifications the products adhere to the most stringent quality standards available."
