The new Kemet organic capacitor (KO-CAP) is now available from TTI Europe.
The sold electrolytic capacitor with a conductive polymer cathode combines
the low ESR of multilayer ceramic, the high capacitance of aluminium
electrolytic and the volumetric efficiency of tantalum into a single
surface-mount package. Unlike liquid-electrolyte-based capacitors, KO-CAP
delivers a long operational life and high ripple current capabilities.
The T598 high-performance automotive-grade polymer electrolytic capacitor
has been specifically developed to deliver greater stability and reliability
in harsh environmental conditions. Due to special enhancements incorporated
in its materials and design, the KEMET T598 delivers 1,000 hours under
85°C/85% RH/VR and fully complies with AEC-Q200 Qualification Testing. It
is manufactured in an ISO TS16949 certified plant and is subjected to
PPAP/PSW and change control. The device meets or exceeds EIA standard
535BAAC.
Performance characteristics include an operating temperature range of -55C
to +125C and a rated capacitance range of 47 - 330µF at 120Hz/25C. Rated
voltage is 6.3V - 16V.
Typical applications include decoupling and filtering across products aimed
at a number of markets, but it is particularly suited to automotive
applications such as infotainment and input/output in DC-DC converters
exposed to high humidity and temperatures.
