New range of automotive clock oscillators meets AEC-Q200 and TS16949

Complementing its existing range of automotive grade quartz crystals, IQD has launched a new range of clock oscillators designed for applications that require AEC-Q200 and TS16949 automotive grade products. The new models, housed in a ceramic seam sealed packages, are available in five different industry standard sizes, 2mm x 1.6mm, 2.5mm x 2mm, 3.2mm x 2.5mm, 5mm x 3.2mm and 7mm x 5mm. All are available with full PPAP documentation from levels 1 to 5 and are suited for extreme environments found in typical automotive applications including ABS and airbag sensors, Engine Control Units (ECUs), high-speed automotive networks and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) receivers. The new models operate over the standard automotive operating temperature range of -40C to 125C. Frequency stability options can be specified down to ±50ppm or ±25ppm over the industrial operating temperature range of -40C to +85C, which covers all applications be it in the engine compartment or in cab. With the increasing need to reduce power, even inside vehicles, the clock oscillators are available in three different voltages, 1.8V, 2.5V and 3.3V. Typical current consumption on the 1.8V versions of the IQXO-542 AUTO and CFPS-53 AUTO models is only 3mA. All models deliver a CMOS output, 15pF load with a rise and fall time of typically 5 to 7ns and the option of a Tri-State function on Pin 1. Low frequencies, such as 1MHz in the 7mm x 5mm or 4MHz in the 2mm x 1.6mm oscillators which are not possible in the same sized packaged quartz crystal, are also available. The highest frequency available is 135MHz in the CFPS-73 AUTO and IQXO-581 AUTO models with the others being typically 50MHz, says the company.
