RS Components now stocks the Mentor family of vertical light guides. They
consist of three rows of light pipes with 2mm diameter round heads parallel
to the printed board on the front panel. The range is available in single
modules or multiple arrays with up to 30 sections. The light guides use a
light diffusing cover to prevent radiation when using a combination of
different colours.
They are designed for use with surface mount (SMD) LEDs and are fitted to
the circuit board using push-fit lugs. The light pipe inject face sits in
close proximity to the LED on the board.
