Flexible light guide system for surface-mount LEDs

Mentor's flexible light guide system is now available from RS Components. It consists of mounting supports and light guides which are ordered separately, offering customisable solutions so the user can create individual light pipes to suit their designs. The mounting supports (1304.1001 and 1304.1002) are black plastic holders which are pushed into the PCB using two pins. They are designed for use with 2.2 mm diameter light pipes and surface mounted (SMD) LEDs. The light pipes (1304.1003, 1304.1004 and 1304.1005) are flexible coated fibres which are available in a variety of lengths. They are designed to be used with the mounting supports by slotting into the holes on the top.
