Specific solutions for cross-plant condition monitoring and spectrum analysis

Iba AG has extended its portfolio for condition monitoring systems. For monitoring process vibrations, the PC supported measurement data acquisition and analysis specialist now offers the well-established ibaInSpectra product range. In complex plants, the condition monitoring can be done on the basis of vibration signals and process signals, using the refined solutions of ibaCMC and ibaCMU-S The measurement of vibrations is a reliable and tried and tested solution for small plants and individual components in order to detect wear early on in the process. For complex plants, the operator should consider that the vibration behaviour may be influenced by factors from the process itself. In this case, damages on machine parts can only be detected in a reliable way by simultaneously monitoring all machine, process, material and quality data. "We have refined our Condition Monitoring systems adapted to the various demands on the condition oriented maintenance. The customer gets exactly the system which is tailored to his specific needs", said Günter Spreitzhofer, consulting and application technology, Iba. With ibaInSpectra, mechanical vibrations can be monitored in a time-synchronous and continuous way. Frequency analyses can be displayed in real time. This way, critical machine conditions or exceeded limit values can be signalized. As the ibaInSpectra technology module is integrated into the ibaPDA process data acquisition system, also other relevant data from the plant can be acquired. Thus, the user can identify relations between the vibration effects and the process behavior. For interfering in the process control, the alarm signals can also be provided to other systems via the output interfaces of ibaPDA. In contrast to many other CM systems, ibaInSpectra is not a manufacturer specific system. It uses the broad connectivity of the Iba process data acquisition system and hence is an ideal solution for heterogeneous automation environments, says the company.
