New 250W DC-DC converters have a wide 3.3V to 24V output adjustment range

Featuring a wide 3.3V to 24V output adjustment range, TDK-Lambda has introduced the i6A series of 250W DC-DC converters. The non-isolated units can deliver up to 14A output current and will operate over a 9V to 40V input range. Power density is 427W/in3 packaged in the industry-standard 1/16th brick form factor.

Ideal for creating additional high-current output voltages from a single output 12V or 24V AC-DC supply power supply, the highly-efficient converters are suitable for use in medical, communications, industrial, test and measurement, broadcast and portable equipment.

The compact, PCB mount i6A DC-DC converters measure just 33mm x 22.9mm x 12.7mm, offer efficiencies of up to 98% and will operate in ambient temperatures of -40C to +125C. The thermal design of the series allows for minimal output de-rating, even with low airflow and high ambient temperature conditions. The product’s optimized dynamic voltage response reduces the need for external capacitors, saving board space.

Standard features include a trim pin for output voltage adjustment, remote sense, remote on-off (positive or negative logic), input under-voltage, over-current and over-temperature protection. Power good, operating frequency synchronisation and output sequencing are available as options.

Safety certification includes IEC/EN 60950-1, UL/CSA 60950-1 with CE marking for the Low Voltage and RoHS2 Directives, says the company.
