25-11-2015 | TDK Lambda | Power

Latest from TDK-Lambda is the DTM65-C8 series of medically-certified 40-65W Class II external power supplies. Certified to the IEC 60601-1 & 60601-1-11 medical standards, the products have 4,000VAC isolation from input to output and require no ground wire connection. The series is intended to power a range of hospital, dental and home healthcare products for monitoring, imaging and diagnostic applications.

The series comprises of seven popular output voltages; 5, 12, 15, 19, 24, 28 and 48VDC, and operates from a 90 to 264VAC input via a standard IEC 60320-C8 connector. The output cable is terminated with a 4-pin Power-DIN connector, with other connector types available on request.

Models of 12V and above have an average efficiency level of >88% and an off-load power draw of less than < 0.21W, enabling the series to fully meet the ErP and DOE Efficiency Level VI requirements.

The DTM65-C8 external power supplies have a vent-free IP21 rated enclosure and comply with the strict shock and vibration for the home healthcare medical standard IEC 60601-1-11. The overall size of the enclosure is a compact 106mm in length, 60mm in width and 31mm in height.

In addition to IEC 60601-1, the DTM65-C8 has been certified to EN 60601-1, ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1, CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 60601-1-08 and carries the CE mark. TDK-Lambda’s medical safety compliance extends to providing 2 x MOPPs (Means of Patient Protection) input to output. All models comply with EN 55011-B, FCC Class B (conducted and radiated) emissions and EN 60601-1-2 immunity standards, says the company.
