Global delivery capability delivers smallest VSON MOSFET relays to Asia

Digi-Key and Omron have announced they have expanded their engagement to now include all of Asia. Asia was the last region remaining for a full global authorization between the two companies. Omron’s wide selection of components will now be marketed and shipped around the world. “We are very excited about this global contract with Digi-Key, and realize this is a great opportunity for both companies to further grow our mutual business, particularly in Asia,” said Kenji Matsunami, company president, electronic and mechanical components, Omron. “We are very excited to take this large and final step in rounding out our long and successful partnership with Omron,” said Tom Busher, VP, Global I P & E, Digi-Key. “Now customers anywhere in the world can receive the latest Omron technologies and superior quality products.” An example of the available portfolio are the smallest VSON MOSFET relays with an advanced SMT lead design to improve solderability. They offer a wider range of characteristics which provide an array of solutions, meeting the needs of today’s high-performance applications. Omron's expanded range of MOSFET relays, type G3VM, sets the benchmark in Solid State Relays (SSRs). Products are manufactured using the latest advances in automated production and include a variety of improved construction technologies within the areas of the input LED, PDA (Photo Diode Array used as a photocoupler), and MOSFET chips used in the load switching circuit. As a result, further reductions in package size and power requirements have been achieved. Combining the advantages of mechanical and solid state technology, the G3VM range gives unprecedented capability to design. All models featured include a double MOSFET load circuit, enabling the designer complete versatility since it makes no difference whether an AC or DC load in either direction is connected (Connection A). Thus, the MOSFET relay is a fully functional alternative to an electromechanical relay with minimal additional drive circuitry.
