Offering two antennas within one slim compact module, Abracon's APAMSJ-147 dual-feeder antenna is now available from Digi-Key. The device supports an active GNSS antenna as well as a passive cellular antenna combined in one module. Cable 1 feeds the GNSS antenna, an active dual-band GPS/GLONASS ceramic patch with LNA, providing a high gain, low noise suitable for modern GNSS receivers. The GNSS section offers a high gain LNA of 26dB - 27dB over a supply voltage of 3V - 5V, and a low noise figure. This matched active module offers easy integration with an excellent VSWR of 1.2:1, and with no additional tuning required. Cable 2 from the antenna is a passive feed to the penta-band cellular and UMTS antenna. This offers coverage from 825MHz to 2170 MHz spanning the mobile bands GSM850/900, DCS1800, PCS1900, and WCDMA (Band 1 UMTS). The passive antenna offers peak gain in low band 824MHz - 960MHz (1.5dBi) and typical efficiency of 43%, while the high band 1710 MHz ~ 2170MHz (0.5dBi) and typical efficiency of 32%. The overall antenna module is a compact design being 77mm diameter x 12mm high for window mounting in vehicles. It is suitable as an external antenna of tracking devices, and cellular mobile communications, says the company.
