Xsens' MTi 1 Series motion-tracking modules are now available from Mouser
stock. The 3D sensor modules incorporate the latest in advanced sensor
fusion and miniature MEMS technologies to offer complete, self-contained
motion tracking for high-volume industrial and consumer applications. With a
dynamic accuracy of 1 degree root mean squared (RMS) for roll and pitch, the
MTi 1-series are among the most accurate 3D motion trackers in their class.
The Xsens MTi 1-series modules are available in three configurations: MTi-1
inertial measurement unit (IMU), MTi-2 vertical reference unit (VRU), or
MTi-3 attitude and heading reference system (AHRS). All three configurations
output inertial and magnetic field data; the MTi-2 and MTi-3 modules add
acceleration, roll/pitch, and heading tracking data; and the MTi-3 module
also includes referenced yaw data. The modules' industry-standard
communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART) allow engineers to customize data,
frequency, and output format, while the modules' onboard processing reduces
the load on the application processor to lower the overall power consumption
of the end system.
Mouser also stocks the Xsens MTi 1-Series Development Kit, which includes a
mounted MTi-3 AHRS module and a full-featured MT Software Suite with logging
and visualization options, intuitive configuration windows and possibilities
to export data for use in other programs. The included software development
kit contains source code for communication and libraries for data
processing.
