Designed to be the ideal enabler for NFC in home-automation and consumer
applications, NXP's feature-packed, next-generation connected NFC tag is now
available from Digi-Key. It is the fastest, most BoM-optimized way to add
tap-and-go connectivity to just about any electronic device, says the
company.
The NXP NTAG I2C plus is a family of connected NFC tags that combine a
passive NFC interface with a contact I2C interface. The second generation of
NXP's connected-tag technology is fully backward compatible with
first-generation NTAG I2C products, while adding new, advanced features for
password protection, full memory-access configuration from both interfaces,
an originality signature for protection against cloning, and four times
higher pass-through performance, along with the energy-harvesting
capabilities.
Also available, the NTAG I2C plus Explorer Kit is an all-in-one
demonstration/development resource for NFC connected tags. Designed to
emulate using an NTAG I2C plus tag chip in an embedded electronic system,
the kit centres around a multi-purpose microprocessor-based development /
demo board and includes a full complement of hardware and software tools to
support investigation of the NTAG I2C chip operation, the NFC RF
communication link, and the I2C serial bus connected link, as well as to
perform a variety of demonstrations, and develop / test user's applications.
