PMBus 1.2 compliant non-isolated SWIFT synchronous buck converters

14-03-2016 | Farnell element14 | Power

Texas Instruments’ TPS544x25 PMBus 1.2 compliant non-isolated SWIFT synchronous buck converters are now available from Farnell element14. The DC-DC converters with integrated FETs are capable of high-frequency operation and 20A or 30A current output from a 5mm × 7mm package. An integrated NexFET power stage and optimised drivers provide high-frequency, low-loss switching, enabling high-density power solutions. The PMBus interface enables the AVS through VOUT_COMMAND, flexible converter configuration, as well as key parameters monitoring including output voltage, current and an optional external temperature. Response to fault conditions can be set to either restart, latch-off or ignore depending on system requirements. Typical applications include test and instrumentation, Ethernet switches, optical switches, routers, base stations, servers, enterprise storage SSDs and high-density power systems.
