New audio reference design for automotive eCall and telematics systems

02-03-2016 | Texas Instruments | Design & Manufacture

The Texas Instruments (TI) TIDA-00724 is a reference design of an audio subsystem for the automotive emergency call (eCall) and telematics modules. It demonstrates how the selected devices help meet the eCall system level needs. As the system runs off its own battery source, the TLV320AIC3104-Q1, an audio codec designed for flexible use, provides low-power consumption in order to preserve battery life. Additionally, it has an integrated microphone to enable hands-free calling. The TAS5411-Q1, a 8W Class-D audio amplifier, can handle 40V load dump in situations where the supply range becomes unstable.
