Aimed at high-power DC bus clamping applications, TTI Europe now stocks Bourns' new 15V bidirectional high-current power TVS Diode. The new PTVS3-015C-TH device is part of Bourn's proven and recently extended range of PTVS3 series high current TVS Diodes and offers very high surge current protection (3kA at +25C). Typical target applications are exposed AC/DC power supplies, for example in wireless base stations. Bourns' PTVS3 series offers bidirectional port protection meeting IEC 61000-4-5 8/20µs current surge requirements and is RoHS compliant and halogen free. When compared to typical competing MOV technology, the use of silicon technology in the Power TVS products provides a lower clamping voltage under surge, greater performance stability and increased reliability. These devices exhibit an excellent surge response versus temperature; the maximum surge current at 150°C exceeds 70% of their rated value at 25C.
