Easier access to wide range of high-performance connectors

Astute Electronics has signed a stocking franchise distribution agreement with I-PEX, a Dai-ichi Seiko company that designs and manufactures small form factor precision connectors for high speed and high frequency applications. The product range includes micro RF and coax connectors, board to board, board to wire, FPC/FFC and docking connectors. Gary Evans, e-mech divisional manager, Astute Electronics, said: “The I-PEX connector range offers excellent performance in a small package. The franchise is an excellent addition to our growing portfolio of electromechanical products and means that we can offer design engineers real choice and innovative technology.” Key products include: 1 - MHF series micro RF coax connectors designed for wireless LAN antenna applications including IEEE802.11 a/b/g/n, WiMAX, Zigbee, Bluetooth, MIMO, WiGig and M2 (MHF 4L). These devices have a very low mated profile of 1.2-2.5mm and suit coax cable diameters of 0.64 to 1.8mm. The use of the company’s i-Fit technology enables simple, solderless termination. 2 - Novastack board to board connectors are available on a 0.35 or 0.4mm pitch with 10-56 pins. The 35-HDP version is shielded and has four 2.2 A power contacts. Data transfer rate is high at 10Gpbs. 3 - Cabline micro coax connectors are available in a wide range of configurations and pin pitches from as small as 0.25mm. Mated profile is very low, and horizontal, vertical and right angle types are available. i-Fit technology ensures simple, solderless termination.
