The T520 series KEMET Organic Capacitor (KO-CAP), from Farnell element14, is a solid electrolytic capacitor with a conductive polymer cathode capable of delivering very low ESR and improved capacitance retention at high frequencies. It combines the low ESR of multilayer ceramic, the high capacitance of aluminium electrolytic and the volumetric efficiency of tantalum into a single surface mount package. Unlike liquid electrolyte-based capacitors, it has a very long operational life and high ripple current capabilities. The T520 low ESR polymer electrolytic provides the widest range of voltage, capacitance and case size options in the KO-CAP family. Suitable for general purpose DC applications up to 12.8 volts, the T520 is ideal for DC-DC converters, bulk decoupling and hold-up. Typical applications include notebook PCs, portable electronics, telecommunications (mobile phone and base station), displays, SSD, HDD and USB.
