Highly reliable base metal dielectric system

KEMET’s ArcShield™ Technology, available from Mouser, features their highly reliable base metal dielectric system combined with a unique internal shield electrode structure that is designed to suppress an arc-over event while increasing available capacitance. It was developed on the principle of a partial Faraday cage, this internal system offers unrivalled performance and reliability when compared to external surface coating technologies. It features internal shield electrode technology with excellent surge voltage performance. Applications include where voltages are greater than 500 VDC, in high humidity environments, non-coated electronic circuit assemblies, with densely populated boards, for minimum creepage distances, where there is limited board space and for device miniaturization.
