Analog Devices AD9162-FMC-EBZ evaluation boards, available from Mouser, help designers quickly evaluate the features of the high-speed AD9162 RF DACs. The evaluation kit includes the evaluation board, mini USB cable, and an evaluation software DVD.
The evaluation board includes the AD9508 1.65GHZ Clock fanout buffer and ADF4355 microwave wideband synthesizer. The AD9508 provides a reference clock and SYSREF to the ADS7 and the SYSREF signal to DAC.
The evaluation software includes the ACE graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI installs the DPG Downloader and AD9162 ACE SPI programmer application. The programmer application provides full access to devices’ register map. The software also enables the ability to record, load, and save macros as register sequences to make programming easier. Designers can use the single pole, double throw (SPDT) switch on the board to select whether to drive the eval board from an external or on-board clock.
The device can connect to the ADS7-V1 or ADS7-V2 pattern generator. The ADS7 pattern generator automatically formats the data and sends it to the evaluation board.
