World's first SIP-8 packaged DC-DC converters deliver 9W

08-09-2016 | Powersolve | Power

Powersolve has introduced what it believes to be the world's first SIP-8 packaged DC-DC converter series to provide an isolated and regulated output voltage with up to 9W of output power. Models in the Tracopower TMR9 series are available with 2:1 (TMR 9) or 4:1 (TMR 9WI) input ranges and cover nominal inputs of 12V, 24V and 48VDC. Single and dual output voltages of 3.3V to 24V DC are available. The converters feature a 50% higher power density compared to conventional SIP converters and can reliably operate up to 60C environment temperature at full load or up to 85C with a 50% load de-rating. This is because TMR 9 Series models are designed using a special design flat switching transistor with an extended dissipation surface. This, together with an extra thermo-conducting potting compound, allows the heat to be efficiently transferred to the metal casing and dissipated to the environment. Other key features include 1500 VDC I/O-isolation voltage, external On/Off, short current protection and EMC according EN55022 class A.
