From Powersolve, a new smart charger for NiMH and NiCD batteries will auto
detect and charge 8 to 15 cells in series and charge them at the correct
voltage between 9.6V and 18VDC.
The PSCH30 charger operates from a universal 90 to 264VAC and incorporates
several safety features including automatic cut-off when the cells are fully
charged and battery over-temperature protection using a thermal sensor.
Over-voltage and short-circuit protection are also standard. A switch allows
users to select the charge current between 0.9A to 1.8A while charging
status is indicated by LED.
Housed in a compact, desk-top plastic enclosure (120mm x 60mm x 38mm), the
PSCH30 is supplied as standard with an IEC320 C14 3 pin AC input connector
while the output lead is 1.2m, terminated in a 4-pin Toby KPPX-4P connector.
In addition, the company offers a variety of optional output connectors.
The CE marked PSCH30 meets all relevant safety and EMC standards including
UL1310, CISPR22 'B', FCC Part 15 'B' and EN55022 'B', says the company.
