New 1W - 6W DC-DC converters for surface-mount applications

Latest from XP Power are three new 'next-generation' high-performance ranges of surface-mount (SMD) DC-DC converters rated at 1W, 3W and 6W of output power with single and dual outputs. They offer higher efficiency and extended operating temperature range when compared to existing models. The ISB series provides 1W of output power, the ISC 3W and the ISX is a 6W converter. The small size of the converters takes up less PCB space, giving designers more room to add extra features, alternatively to reduce the overall size of their end product. The ISB measures just 18.9mm x 17.2mm x 8.7mm, the ISC measures just 24mm x 18.1mm x 8.25mm, and the ISX comes in at 25.4mm x 22mm x 10.2mm. Aimed at board-mounted designs in mobile, telecom, portable and battery powered systems that need small SMD components and require isolation and regulation between the input and output, the converters offer a high isolation voltage of 1500VDC. Featuring extended operating temperature ranges, the ISC and ISX series operate over -40C to +100C, while the ISB is rated from -40C to +95C. Offering 4:1 and 2:1 input voltage ranges, the converters are suitable for applications with inputs ranging from 5 – 75VDC. Comprising single and dual output models for versatility, various combinations of single output models from 3.3 to 24VDC and dual output models with +/-5, +/-9, +/-12, +/-15 and +/-24 VDC are available.
