M12 A-coded connectors designed for outdoor applications

Binder’s new waterproof and rustproof M12 A-coded connector is designed specifically for outdoor use to IP68, IP69k. The connector withstands high-pressure washing and offers high levels of resistance to UV, temperature fluctuations, acid rain, salt spray, ozone and other pollutants and is highly suited to applications such as external sensors and control equipment as found in the water treatment and oil and gas industries. The connectors, now firmly established as the industry standard for sensors, automation and control systems, were originally designed primarily for indoor applications but being rated to IP68 means that they are also suitable for wet and dirty conditions so are often used in outdoor equipment. These new connectors have been developed to meet the need of modern sensors and instrumentation systems that are used in ever more extreme conditions. A UV plastic connector body provides high temperature and chemical resistance while high performance polymeric seals provide protection to IP69K. The locking nut is made from high-grade stainless steel and a similarly tough protection cap with lanyard ensures connectors are sealed even when unmated. Screw clamp termination makes them ideal for field assembly.
