Kit enables developers to learn about servo motor control and build robotic devices

16-11-2016 | Mouser Electronics | Design & Manufacture

Terasic Technologies Servo Motor Kit, available from Mouser, is designed to enable developers to learn about servo motor control and build their own robotic devices. The kit includes one Servo Motor Driver daughter board and one servo motor. The daughter board can drive up to 24 servo motors. Using a host board and additional servos, the driver board can be used to drive multiple-jointed robotics, such as a hexapod robot, biped robot, or arm robot. The motor driver daughter card has a 3.3V 2x20 GPIO interface which can connect to a Terasic Technologies DE Series FPGA board. The board acts as a host board to send PWM signals to the daughter board to control the rotation of the connected servo motors. The kit also includes the PWM IP and reference designs. By referring to these examples, designers can quickly learn how to work with servo motors and build their own robotic projects.
