CUI and Digi-Key have teamed up to offer their customers a robust portfolio of DoE Level VI and CoC Tier 2-compliant external AC-DC adapters.
On February 10, 2014, the US Department of Energy (DoE) published a revision to its EISA 2007 external power supply (EPS) efficiency standard, increasing the minimum efficiency requirements as well as expanding the range of products applicable under the new standard. On February 10, 2016 this law, commonly referred to as DoE Level VI, went into effect. In Europe, the EU’s proposed CoC Tier 2 directive, which is even more stringent, looks set to become mandatory Ecodesign rules in January 2018.
“Digi-Key continues to be committed to supporting our engineers and customers as they strive to keep their designs compliant with the latest regulations,” said Tom Busher, VP, global I P and E at Digi-Key. “CUI has taken a leadership role in addressing the increasing concerns for no-load and active mode power consumption of external adapters. We are honored to have worked closely with them to develop a variety of efficiency standard resources that will help keep customers informed, in addition to getting compliant products to market faster.”
