Molex has introduced the iODVA conformance tested and approved IP67 EtherNet/IP I/O module to interface with roller drives, which is claimed to be an industry first. The space-saving Brad HarshIO modules are machine-mountable to connect industrial controllers to roller drives directly, even in the toughest environments. Interfacing with up to four roller drives makes the modules an economical choice for conveyor applications.
Featuring an IP67-rated housing, the modules provide protection against the ingress of dust and liquid in high vibration environments. Machine mounting saves on cabinet space and reduces wiring costs in the field. An integrated two-port switch with 100Mbps delivers full duplex data transmission and enables a daisy-chain wiring topology for additional cost-savings. Their patented Ultra-Lock push-to-lock connection system delivers further time saving benefits for reliable IP67-sealed connection of cordsets during commissioning.
The module supports eight digital inputs, four digital outputs and four analogue outputs controlling the speed of the drive. Featuring built-in protection to help prevent short circuit and current overload events, the modules also come equipped with diagnostic LEDs for visual feedback on network, power and I/O status.
“Conveyors require economical connectivity solutions to replace complex wiring and I/O cabinets,” says Eric Gory, product manager, Molex. “Harsh-duty Brad modules ease the wiring time for machine and system builders, they are industry-compliant and proven in some of the most rugged industrial environments, including automotive, automation and food and beverage, as well as general applications.”
